Terms of Service
Last updated: 28 September 2026. Version 1.0.
These terms are a contract between you and Implausible Ltd, company number 15081179, 167–169 Great Portland Street, 5th Floor, London, W1W 5PF. Contact: hello@implausible.io. They apply to every Implausible website, app, experiment, subscription and event. Shop orders, research partnerships and consultancy have extra terms, set out below or in a separate agreement.
Please read them. Nothing in them removes your legal rights as a consumer.
1. What Implausible is
Implausible runs experiments that test human prediction and intuition. The platform records your predictions, measures them against statistical controls and gives you feedback.
We do not claim that precognition exists, or that you have it. The experiments are designed to find out. Results are statistical estimates and can be wrong. Please read the Disclaimer.
2. Who can use it
- You must be 18 or over.
- You must give accurate information and keep your password secure.
- One account per person. Accounts are personal and cannot be shared or transferred.
- You are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us at once if you think someone else has used it.
- To take part in experiments, you must give explicit consent to our use of your experiment data. See the Privacy Policy and Data Policy.
3. Plans and payment
- Implausible is currently in private alpha and free to use. These payment terms apply when paid plans launch.
- Membership prices, billing frequency and what is included are shown before you pay, including VAT where it applies.
- Payment is taken by Stripe at sign-up and then on each renewal date until you cancel.
- Your plan renews automatically for the same period. For annual plans, we email you at least 30 days before each renewal with the price and how to cancel. For monthly plans, we email you at least once every six months.
- Free trials and introductory prices: we tell you the date the trial or offer ends and the full price that follows. We remind you before the first full payment.
- Price changes: we give you at least 30 days' notice. The new price applies from your next renewal. You can cancel before then.
- If a payment fails, we will tell you and may pause paid features until it is resolved.
4. Cancelling
Cancel any time in your account settings, in one step. No phone call or email needed. You can also tell us by email. Cancelling stops the next renewal. You keep access until the end of the period you have paid for.
Your 14-day right to cancel. You can cancel a new membership within 14 days of buying it, for any reason. If you ask to start using paid features straight away and then cancel within 14 days, we refund what you paid, less a proportionate amount for the days before you cancelled.
Annual renewals. If your annual plan renews, you can cancel within 14 days of the renewal and get a proportionate refund for the unused days.
Refunds go back to your original payment method within 14 days of cancelling.
Otherwise, fees already paid are not refundable, except where the law requires, or where we are at fault.
5. Acceptable use
The value of the platform depends on clean data. You must not:
- use bots, scripts or automation to take part in experiments
- run more than one account, or share an account
- try to see, predict, manipulate or tamper with targets, seals or random number sources
- reverse engineer, scrape or overload the service
- misrepresent your results, or claim they are certified by Implausible
- use an offensive, unlawful or misleading display name, or post unlawful, harmful or abusive content
- use the service in a way that breaks the law
We may exclude data from analysis, suspend or close accounts that break these rules. If we close a paid account for a serious breach, we may not refund the current period. If we close it for any other reason, we refund the unused part.
6. Display names and shared results
Your display name may appear to other participants, for example on leaderboards. Results you choose to share create a public link that anyone with the link can see. Keep display names and anything you share civil and lawful.
You can report a display name or shared result to hello@implausible.io. We remove illegal content promptly and review every report. You can appeal any action we take on your content or account by replying to our decision.
7. Your data and your content
Our Privacy Policy and Data Policy explain how we use your data.
You keep ownership of anything you write, such as free-text notes. You give us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to use it to run the service and, once de-identified, for research.
We own the aggregated, anonymous datasets, statistics, models (including the Metamodel) and findings we create. You can download your own data at any time in Settings → Privacy.
8. Our intellectual property
The Implausible name, logo, experiments, games, protocols, software, design and content belong to Implausible Ltd or its licensors. You may use them for your personal, non-commercial use of the service. Nothing else is licensed.
9. Breathing, focus, audio and meditation exercises
Some sessions include breathing, relaxation, focus or audio exercises, including binaural audio. They are optional. Stop if you feel dizzy, unwell or distressed. Do not do them while driving or operating machinery. Keep audio at a comfortable volume. If you have a medical condition, including epilepsy or a heart or breathing condition, or are pregnant, check with a doctor first. They are not treatment for any condition.
10. Changes to the service and to these terms
The platform is evolving. We may add, change or remove experiments and features. If a change significantly reduces what a paid plan includes, we will tell you in advance, and you may cancel and receive a refund for the unused part.
We may update these terms for legal, security or product reasons. We will give you at least 30 days' notice of significant changes. If you do not agree, you may cancel before they take effect.
11. Availability
We work to keep the service running, but cannot promise it will always be available or error-free. We may suspend it for maintenance, security or reasons outside our control.
12. Our responsibility to you
- We provide the service with reasonable care and skill, as the Consumer Rights Act 2015 requires.
- If we break these terms, we are responsible for foreseeable loss or damage that results. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable.
- We provide the service for personal, non-commercial use. We are not liable to consumers for lost profits, business loss or lost opportunity.
- We are not liable for decisions you make based on your results, including financial, medical, legal or personal decisions. See the Disclaimer.
- Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.
13. Business users, researchers and clients
If you use Implausible for business, research or consultancy, your separate agreement takes priority. Where there is none: these terms apply; our total liability to you is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim; and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or lost data.
14. Shop
Shop orders at shop.implausible.io are fulfilled by our partner Printful. You can cancel an order and return unused items within 14 days of delivery for a refund. Faulty or incorrect items are replaced or refunded. We refund within 14 days of receiving the return. Personalised items made to your specification cannot be returned unless faulty.
15. Events
Tickets and event terms are shown at booking. If we cancel an event, we refund you in full.
16. Complaints and disputes
Contact hello@implausible.io first. We aim to resolve complaints within 14 days. Privacy complaints are handled as set out in the Privacy Policy. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring proceedings in the courts of England and Wales, or, if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, in your local courts. If you live in the EU, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of your country.
17. General
If a court finds part of these terms invalid, the rest still applies. If we delay enforcing a term, we can still enforce it later. We may transfer this contract to another organisation. We will tell you, and your rights will not be reduced. No one else has rights under these terms.
